Meth Lab - Staff

A while ago one of our clients gave us the book “Recording the Beatles”. Needless to say EMI’s “Abbey Road Studios” features prominently in the book. We have decided to use their titles for our staff. Cheesy? Yeah, but what the hell… someday we’ll get around to ordering Lab Coats so we’ll look like the guys did back at Abbey Road in the 60’s … until then we’re going to use the titles [and hope they don’t sue us].

Balance Engineers: Adam Brass

Adam Brass graduated from the New England Institute of Art’s audio production program in 2006. He is fluent in Swahili, and makes a great bundt cake. Once in a while he gets all frustrated with simple things and his alter ego “Frustrato” rears his ugly head. Don’t worry, though; we’ve managed to subdue him with a daily force feeding of chicken and waffles.

Technical Engineer: Joe Pires

Formerly on the staff at Rhode Island’s Normandy Sound, Joe came to become the technical shop foreman for Mercenary Audio when it still worked on vintage equipment, systems design and installation. When Mercenary closed that department Joe went freelance with clients like “Q Division” and “Zing Recording”. He built Warzone Recording in Chicago; Shocking Vibes in Kingston, Jamaica, and a few other places but we don’t hold any of that against him. He knows his shit, isn’t afraid of 50 hour days when they’re necessary, has a great sense of humor, and can usually pull a solution out of his ass with no warning… which is why he is the Technical Engineer at the Meth Lab.
